Lil' Monster

This was the first Halloween that Ella went Trick-or-Treating. We had a couple different ideas floating around as to what she could be. Perhaps a dragon, or a gnome, maybe a monster. A monster! Target really has great costumes for children, and that's where we found her blue monster costume. Some ribbons were added to the horns so everyone know that she was a girl. The best thing ever about this costume is the way her tail swishes when she walks. Best. Thing. Ever.

We worked on trying to get her to say "trick or treat" with just a little luck.  The one thing she did really well was growling like a monster. If you ask what sound does a monster make, the response is "grrrarrr!" Mr. Smith took her door to door and she would just grab the candy out of the bowls and say "bye bye." He didn't have much luck getting her to do her monster cry. She did put her pumpkin specifically to wave at a woman on a porch across the street from where she was standing. The woman remembered her and gave her an extra bag of goodies for the wave. When they got back Ella sat on the porch watching other trick-or-treaters while eating potato chips, and later a peanut butter cup. Those were the two treats she picked and absolutely loved them.

Halloween has come and gone, but there are still a few monster sightings around Smith Manor. Ella loves to grab her costume, growl, and ask to wear it. We say why not? It's too adorable seeing that tail swish around the house.
